Culpepper Law Group is seeking an experienced Remote Contract Attorney to assist with  family law matters on an as-needed basis. This person must be a self-starter and independent; a ready to hit the pavement running type of person. This position is ideal for an attorney who values flexibility and professional autonomy while working with a high-performing, client-centered team. You must be able to handle hearings in Memphis and Nashville. The Job will likely turn into a full time position for the right candidate.

$100 - $115 hourly

• Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
• Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action

• Represent clients in  divorce, custody, modification, and enforcement hearings .
• Conduct  mediations, negotiations, and court appearances .
• Draft, review, and revise  pleadings, motions, and orders .
• Maintain regular  client communication and case updates.
• Collaborate with legal assistants and paralegals to prepare for hearings and trials.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.

• Must be a member of your local bar association - active member preferred
• Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
• Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years required
• Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree with 2 years of related experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed

• Maintain detailed  time entries and notes in the firm’s case management system.
• Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of family law experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple active cases independently.
• Professional, punctual, and highly organized.
