Income Tax Accountant

Working as Full-time Income Tax Accountant, you will enjoy the opportunity to participate in an energetic work environment while ensuring the company complies with federal, state and foreign income tax obligations and accounting for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with preparation of tax returns by gathering and analyzing data, preparing workpapers and working with external advisors to ensure timely tax payments and filing of tax returns
• Assisting with financial statement accounting for income taxes by preparing quarterly and annual work papers, analyzing tax related accounts, and helping with monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting procedures
• Supporting income tax examination activities by gathering information requested by the auditor
• Analyzing and documenting the pricing of transactions between related business entities
• Completing special projects and other administrative tasks, as required

Required position qualifications include:

• Possess or are working towards a bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Business, Finance related area OR have relevant work experience
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees. This package includes Health, Life, Long Term Disability, and Dental Insurance, in addition to, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and 401(k) with an employer contribution. The base pay range for this position is $42,000 - $52,500. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission. Equal Opportunity Employer.
