Mission Cancer + Blood, part of University of Iowa Health Care is seeking applicants for Pharmacy Student Intern positions.

*Located In: *Des Moines, IA

*Position Responsibilities Include:*

* Document and provide services consistent with established policies, procedures, regulatory, and accreditation requirements including but not limited to USP 797 and USP 800.
* Sterile compounding of medications requested for clinic and infusion services.
* Perform inventory maintenance activities.
* Generate and/or maintain appropriate records related to Prescription & patient-specific order sterile compounding.
* Perform activities involving narcotics and controlled substances.
* Maintain area orderliness and perform weekly and monthly cleaning responsibilities.
* Assist in on-the-job training of new technicians.
* Coordinate technical activities with other members of team.
* Assist pharmacist to facilitate pharmaceutical care to patients including but not limited to patient counseling, medication reconciliation, and clinical follow-up that is within scope of practice.
* Complete and maintain compliance with all competencies and education requirements.

*Position Hours:*

* Average 10 hours per week (up to 20 hours/week during classes, up to 40 hours/week over breaks)
* Primarily 3–5-hour shifts M-F between 0700-1800
* Some limited weekends and holidays may be available or required
* Preference for availability to work over summer and holiday breaks
* Work schedules are based on availability outside of class schedule

*Minimum Eligibility Requirements*

* Currently enrolled as a P1-P4 student at Drake College of Pharmacy
* Must be enrolled as intern or pharmacy technician, trainee with Iowa Board of Pharmacy prior to commencement of employment.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
