Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) – Emergency Department (Hospital)

Department: Emergency Medicine (ED/ER)
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Start Date: 01/05/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 10-hour shifts (9:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hrs/week
Weekends/Holidays: TBD / Every Other Holiday
On-Call: None
Non-Billable Orientation: 8 hrs
OT/Holiday Multiplier: 1.25×

Job Overview

Seeking a Travel Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to support Emergency Department crisis evaluations . The social worker must be able to work independently , perform facility crisis assessments , and manage pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients in a fast-paced hospital ED environment.

Zero tolerance for license or background findings.

 

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis evaluations in the ED/ER
• Provide psychosocial assessments and interventions
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with ED providers and interdisciplinary teams
• Support patients across the lifespan (peds, adolescents, adults)
• Comply with hospital, state, and federal regulations

Required Qualifications (Strict / Non-Negotiable)

• Massachusetts LICSW license – REQUIRED (in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2+ years of psychiatric experience – REQUIRED
• AMSR certification – REQUIRED (must be uploaded; no pending)
• CPI/Welle certification – REQUIRED (must be uploaded; no pending)
• BLS (AHA)
• Experience with Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult populations
• Ability to work independently in ED setting
• Must pass background and license checks with NO findings
• Must have own vehicle
• Local candidates within 50 miles are NOT eligible

Facility Rules & Restrictions

• No candidates living within 50 miles
• No license hits or disciplinary findings
• RTO capped at 5 days; must be disclosed at submission
• RTO during this block will not be approved
• Scheduling requests after submission or offer = rescinded offer
• Two specific interview date/time options required
  “Anytime” will NOT be accepted

COVID-19 Requirement

• COVID vaccination required (dose on or after 10/3/2023)
• Exemptions allowed with proper documentation
• Approved exemptions require masking at all times
