Records Clerk – Citrus County Sheriff's Office Pay Rate: $17.57/hour - $23.19/hour General Description: This position is a regular, full-time position working day shift, Monday through Friday and, as otherwise required, based upon the needs of the agency. This position involves processing requests for arrest and offense reports, public record requests, and traffic crash reports, in addition to various other duties. Essential Functions Enters/verifies data in RMS (Records Management System). Processes DUI paperwork. Processes and transmits traffic related citations to Circuit Court. Processes Domestic Violence Reports for CASA. Processes juvenile citations. Provides statute mandated reports/arrests to the Citrus County School Board. Processes online fraud reports. Validates and verifies entries in FCIC/NCIC. Completes and provides receipts for record request payments and balance receipt book ledger. Maintains integrity and confidentiality of records contained in various programs. Processes case and arrest paperwork. Posts agency's outgoing mail. Files and scans documents. Conducts local background checks. Compiles accreditation proofs. Assists the public and other divisions/agencies for requested/required information. All Citrus County Sheriff's Office employees are considered essential workers and are subject to working in an capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations, including but not limited to, in-County and out-of-County deployments. Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential data. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or on a team as needed/required. Must possess a strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Must possess the ability to multitask and prioritize duties. Operate a variety of office equipment including copier/fax/printer/scanner. Education, Experience, and Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification of competency. Previous clerical experience in law enforcement or judiciary systems preferred. Knowledge of Public Record Law Chapter 119 preferred. Basic English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Physical Demands Position requires prolonged sitting, limited standing, limited walking, limited reaching, limited kneeling, and limited bending in the performance of daily activities. Repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a keyboard. Excellent hearing in order to provide assistance via the telephone and counter service.
